I drove a little over an hour and a half from Miami to arrive at Chef Michaelís. As I was dining alone, I opted to sit at the bar and was immediately attended to by a friendly bartender. He ran over the specials for the evening and I immediately landed on the lobster and shrimp ceviche to start and hogfish prepared ďAmbassadorĒ style with key lime butter sauce, shitake mushrooms, capers and crab meat. They serve beer and wine so I ordered a Pinot Noir from Oregon to sip on while I waited for my food. They also gave complimentary warm bread served with herb infused olive oil. It was hard to not sop it all up! The ceviche was served quickly and the fish not too long after. Long story short, I didnít leave one bite on any plate! I couldnít help but order the key lime pie for a sweet ending. It was perfectly tart and creamy. I also had an espresso to fuel me up for my trip back to Miami! Overall, it was definitely worth the drive and a spot I would recommend for anyone looking for a high quality seafood meal in Islamorada.

This was an alright experience. There was nothing exceptional for the prices that were charged. There are many other restaurants in the keys offering food just as good if not better for a much better value.
