Apeiro is located in a busy shopping center just west of the turnpike in Delray Beach. We arrived around 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night and self-parked behind the restaurant, although valet parking is available too. We went to the outdoor bar area first to grab drinks. It is happy hour daily until 7:00 PM, where drinks are 50% off and they serve a special happy hour menu. We found two seats at the very busy bar. It did take quite a while to order and receive our drinks because the bar was understaffed with only one bartender serving the entire area. The patio area of the restaurant was bustling and busy with people socializing and having fun. It is a very pleasant outdoor area, with a bar, high-top tables, and even a few couches with pillows. We were surprised at how busy it was for a weeknight and took it as a great sign for our upcoming meal.

Next, we went inside and put our name on the waiting list for a table. We waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated with two parties ahead of us. We were seated at a booth table and were promptly served water. We ordered an appetizer, salad, and entree all at once and the food was brought out swiftly and warm, with an appropriate amount of time between courses. We really enjoyed the "Mini Balloon" appetizer, which consisted of fresh house-made pita with tzatziki, hummus, pistachio yogurt and eggplant caponata. All elements of the starter dish were delicious. They gave us more pita when we ran out. Next, we had the Roasted Beet salad, which was also delicious, although slightly acidic for my palette. Our entree was the Moroccan Tangine chicken and it was excellent. The spices used on the braised chicken were delicious and really paired well with the saffron rice and roasted carrots. Lastly, we ordered an apple tart for dessert and it was very good. The portions for all courses were perfect.

The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, but not especially unique. It was extremely comfortable, however. The service once inside the restaurant was very attentive. The new manager even showed us to our seat. He expressed that the restaurant was under his new management for only a few months now and they were trying to keep staffing up to the new demand. We were impressed with his openness and friendliness and saw him go around to talk to many tables. Overall, my experience at Apeiro was very good, with the food being the highlight, and I would recommend it to others looking to experience high quality Mediterranean cuisine.

Parking was a small challenge. It was a bit of a long wait, even with a reservation. Drinks were great and the appetizers were amazing. The tandem waiters were a bit confused with each other. Lack of communication made things awkward at times. Ambience was very nice and comfortable – relaxing for my wife and I. Our second waiter was very personable and very engaging. He kept us very informed. Our entrees were just as good as our appetizers and the portions were ample. We found the price point to fit the quality of food and experience. We would recommend Apeiro to others and we would definitely come back.

We were seated right away. Our server offered us menus and pointed out the drink specials. The food and drinks were good. Some things even great such as, my daughter’s tangine chicken and my husband’s crab cake. We were all full and happy about at about $30 a head. The apple tart with gelato was a great ending. It was made in the wood oven and you could taste that!
