We arrived at 7:45pm after parking just a few steps away down the street. We were welcomed by the hostess and the owner and were seated immediately (given choice of two tables). Our waiter Alberto brought water and took our drink order. He brought those back and promptly and told us the specials one of which was the mushroom app we ordered. He returned in a few mins and took the whole order. Each dish arrived very much in time to allow us to comfortably finish the one before it. The hot dishes arrived really hot. By about 8:15 the piano man Ray started playing and by the time we made our way though all the food, we had been passed the tambourine at least once to make sure we did our part. A variety of waiters stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. We got up to dance but were not rushed to leave at any point. We left around 10:45pm. Our bill was under $100 (for two). Would we return? No doubt...and would bring others.

Parking easy and courteous, graciously greeted at side entrance, escorted to a lovely table over looking a park across the street, offered beverage by for the wait staff, person who was charming, knowledgeable, and very professional with detailed explanation of varies menu items, wines, and repeatedly touched bases with us to see if everything was pleasing to us. Food quality is excellent, prompt service, could talk with each other often without distantly ambient noise of restaurant or street. Portions good sized as were the glasses of wine. Nice selection of paintings on wall for sale. The whole experience from the times we parked to café was great. Would definitely return, and bring friends to this restaurant who both know how to prepare and serve food using good carefully prepared ingredients by a well trained professional staff.

Café Centro is a delicious, old world Italian restaurant that is even a little bit artsy and trendy on Northwood Road. Upon entering the restaurant, you are engulfed by the deep red walls, beautiful paintings, big picture windows, romantic candles aglow, and captured even more by the fresh, delicious cuisine. The menu has a variety of options, from pasta dishes to seafood and everything traditional Italian as well. Being a seafood lover, this was a seafood lover’s dream. The grilled calamari was sweet, tender, buttery and perfectly grilled for my appetizer. The clams on my Linguine with Clam Sauce were soaking up the delicious homemade light tomato sauce with herbs and garlic on top of the pasta. You know that you are in for a treat from the beginning, when you take your first bite of the complimentary freshly baked garlic roll that is drizzled with light garlic butter and dusted with fresh parmesan. For a date night, this is the perfect destination and has the most romantic ambience which is hard to find these days in South Florida. I look forward to returning in the future and dining al-fresco next time amongst the lush vines and beautiful vintage hanging lamps. Café Centro is the perfect place in West Palm Beach for the freshest Italian cuisine with the most beautiful presentations and the fairest prices too, all amongst a romantic, old world yet trendy setting.
