Dune Dog is located just off of busy A1A in a commercial/retail area of north Jupiter. They have a small parking lot next to the restaurant; it is self-park and there is no valet. You would never expect a vacation oasis to be waiting on the inside when you are just driving by. However, once you park and walk into the thatched tiki-roof restaurant, you are immediately transported to a more relaxed state of being. There are surfboards and fun beachy signs hanging on the walls, and fans are blowing cool air everywhere. It is an open-air restaurant and all seating is either in the "front" or "back" of the restaurant under the thatched roof. It is a small restaurant and they do not take reservations. There is often a wait, so it is important to either get there early or just get on island time, grab a beer from the bar, and relax on one of their benches or Adirondack chairs and be ok with the wait!

Parking was easy. We went for a late lunch after coming from the beach and the restaurant was packed, but we were seated in 10 minutes. Service was great from the beginning and stayed that way. Our appetizer was nice and fresh. The dipping sauce was out of this world. Being from Chicago, I couldn’t wait to try the Chicago Hot Dog. It did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their entrée. The ambience was very cool and inviting, we really enjoyed it. Portions were ample and the cost was fitting. We even managed a family-sized Brownie Sundae. Besides the cool atmosphere and great service, I would say the “Dot” dipping sauce and sandwich style hotdog buns really stood out to me. We would highly recommend Dune Dog. We will be back!

This is an outdoor (open) restaurant with picnic tables reminiscent of a beach food stand only you can get a whole Maine lobster. Prices were good and service was wonderful. I am allergic to shellfish, so the food I ate was fine, but nothing to write home about. I would go again for the wings or hot dogs and a few beers with friends for a laid-back family atmosphere.
