Gabose Pocha is very different than what we are used to here in our typical, American bars. The colors inside are soft, yet colorful. The simplicity of the tables and stools gives you that true, Korean experience. The K-Pop music in the background adds to it. I love how fun it feels just to be there. Even if you aren’t participating in karaoke, you still feel that vibrant and fresh experience. The menu has so many dishes to choose from. The meals are heavy and full of flavor. Every dish is perfect for the array of drinks that are offered. I also loved how friendly the staff was and how informative they were to first timers. I definitely want to go back with a group of friends late at night to get an even more fun and unforgettable experience.

I expected no crowd as it was a Monday and I was right. I found a seat right away. The music was loud but not overbearing. My waiter came with water and a corn snack right away. I ordered my drink and he gave me a moment to pick my food. After about 3-5 minutes, he came back, and I ordered my appetizer and entrée together. He then handed me a beer and soju with a shot glass and beer cup. The room was well lit as I dined close to the bar with the beer and soju. I even made soju bombs— two before eating. Food came after about seven minutes. I made my attempt at using chopsticks and successfully ate the goon mandu. I took my time with the bulgogi. I then drank two more soju bombs before ending the night. The counter is next to the bar and I then paid with my card. The server was nice, but he admitted he was a little shy since he recently moved to the states. I tipped and left for the night.
