Marcello’s La Sirena is a perfect choice for elegant dining and a special occasion. Service is impeccable, and menu choices are perfect whether from the menu or from the nightly specials, there are delicious appetizers including escargot. I always have the escargot when I go to La Sirena. It is described on the menu as Lumachee Polenta with white wine, butter and polenta. It is DELICIOUS…a very rich sauce served with a bit of toast. My husband had the appetizer sized Cannelloni Gratinati…a handmade crepe filled with veal, spinach and cheeses. We shared back and forth although I wouldn’t let him have too many of my escargots! I had the snapper special…it had a lemony tangy taste and was made with a breading topping…the fish was very light and flaky. My husband had the lobster ravioli and reported it to be delicious. It is easy to park and in general a stress free, “pampered” experience. I also like that I can make a reservation on Open Table! Wine by the glass can be a bit pricey but the wines are outstanding. Desserts are “too die for.” This is a perfect restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.

When I first entered, I was seated by staff and had someone light a candle at my table while another poured water. The service was impeccable with several servers placed visibly throughout the restaurant to meet all of your needs. They kept my water glass full, replaced my silverware as used after each course and scraped the table between courses when needed. They were all very friendly, even those who didn’t wait on me would ask how the food was as they passed my table with a big smile. The patrons are in every age group, the majority being in their 30s to the upper range of their senior years. The décor is semi-rustic. There are a few long wooden beams geometrically spaced on the ceiling like “old Italy” giving a semi rustic feel. The food is moderately expensive and well worth it. Most of the dishes are creative and unique with top quality ingredients. The entrée sizes are normally sized, but a good number of the appetizers are good sized. The wine list is a notebook that is 80 pages long. You can buy a glass or bottles under $50. The majority of this “phone book” has an eclectic choice of bottled wines ranging up to the multiple hundreds of dollars. When I left, there was someone outside at the front door to open it for their customers. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is open for dinner only and closed during the summer months. The chef created a Panettone bread pudding. It was explained to me that the chef combined chunks of the cake with the fruit intact) with a special custard and a little chocolate drizzle and he would bake it making it into a small round cake. There was a small chocolate drizzle and just the right amount of powdered sugar on top. It was served with hazelnut ice cream on a small bed of whipped cream. I can honestly say I can’t remember any dessert that I’ve ever enjoyed more….and I’ve had a lot of them!!

We were seated right away after we parked onsite. The table was for two and just a little cramped between a table of 5 and 3. I would have liked a little more space. I loved the wine menu, I could have been there all night reading it and was lucky the waiter helped me out with a fabulous pinot grigio, that tasted like more…! We had attention from 5 staff members in all and decided to go with the specials that were offered. The food was high-end quality style, only downside-one course came after another too quickly, in fact I asked the waiter to give us some time before we ordered dessert. We were in and out in just 1 hour and 5 minutes. Overall, friendly staff, everything was so well presented and we enjoyed our meal. The place was busy. It’s not a casual environment, hence the “dress code” of many patrons. For a special occasion, this is an ideal pick with great food and a lovely atmosphere with a very welcoming staff.
