This place was such a pleasant surprise! It was so unique and beautiful. There were multiple levels and each was designed with care. The room that had the wine cellar was warm and oaky as you would expect and you can imagine it is an amazing experience to dine in there. The collection was huge. The main dining room was serene and while you can see the activity in the open kitchen, you can hear it. As a side note, you can see that the people who were dining there were regulars. The staff knew them and they had good rapport. The menu was explained to us and the biggest decision was whether to try something new or something traditional. The pasta was made in-house so I had to go for that and I was not disappointed. I couldn't believe the size of the portion I got and the quality of the plate. The sauce was amazing and the meatball, short rib and sausage were delicious! I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Fulvio and you can see why Sardelli would be such a wonderful experience with someone like him at the helm. I am definitely going back and soon

My family and I arrived at the restaurant and my car was taken by the valet. The beautiful thing about Sardelli's is that there is no sign for the restaurant and that it's a hidden gem in Hollywood. They had fresh basil and tomatoes set up at the entrance which provided a beautiful and aromatic scent that traveled throughout the restaurant. It has a vintage environment and the décor throughout is classy. We sat down at a table near the window with a view of Van Buren Street and although the restaurant was booming on a Tuesday night, we were taken care of immediately. The chef came to our table with a charcuterie board that had a mixture of crostini's, braided breadsticks, homemade pickled vegetables, olives, and dried meats. For appetizers, we ordered a homemade focaccia bread with a ricotta basil spread, tomato soup with a drizzle of olive oil, and a whole fried tempura style lobster, all of which were amazing. The tomato soup was both sweet and savory and the tempura lobster was served with a habanero jelly that is made with mangoes grown in the neighborhood.

As an entrée, I ordered the homemade linguini carbonara and a Milanese style veal chop that was served over a bed of arugula, tomato and a shaved onion salad. The veal chop is one of my all-time favorite meals due to their ability of making it juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. For dessert, we ordered a homemade ricotta cheesecake that was out of this world- it was light and fluffy so there was no guilt for eating it. After an amazing meal, Fulvio, who is not only the chef and one of the most handsome men in the industry, came to our table to talk to us about our experience which was nothing short of superb. However, I'm a little worried my wife may leave me for him because his hair is so perfect.

Sardelli is everything you wish for in a classy, upscale Italian restaurant. The menu offerings are expensive, but the food and quality are top notch. The wine well worth the cost. The food is tasty and the portions are plentiful. The entire staff is knowledgeable and experienced. Sardelli's atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The hostess - Patricia - was pleasant as well as Chef Fulvio and our waiter Julian. We were treated wonderfully from the moment we arrived until we departed. Parking was free and easy. It's a restaurant you certainly would want to revisit and bring friends. We had a charming evening. The food was excellent and generous. The wine superb. The staff outstanding and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back and recommend it highly.
