Seriously, I would never ever go back. Never even think of telling someone to go there, and I was disgusted with the whole place and especially the food. I am NOT picky. Will try anything, but I couldn’t bring myself to order more food.

Seriously??? It was a disaster! When I drove up I realized it was not a gourmet restaurant, (fine with me) but surely they can do better than that… Clam chowder tasted like canned, looked like canned. Two bites and I was just done. Service was apathetic and the cook and waitress even said they didn’t want to be there and wished they were somewhere else!!! Hmmm, I absolutely hated it and could not wait to leave! I’m sure there are times for a place like this; like if you’re drunk and starving at 3 am and no place else is open, but even then, I would have to pass. Sorry to be so negative, but I just can’t squeeze an ounce of favor out of me for this place.

You enter the establishment from the parking available out front and sit straight at the bar which is the only seating available. You are greeted by the servers and take a seat on the bar stool. You immediately notice the marine style décor and shack appearance. You realize that the food is going to be served right in front of you which is appealing. You are given an extensive menu to peruse and provided drinks which range from soda to beer on tap by the glass or by the pitcher with availability of bottle/s buckets, wine and iced tea. Upon ordering it becomes quickly aware to you that the servers are efficient at cooking food freshly and quickly. I ordered calamari which was lightly floured and flash fried in front of me, tasty and obviously fresh. The next orders were fried oysters and shrimp with curly fries and coleslaw and cocktail dipping sauce. The oysters are battered and shrimp is breaded then fried and served hot. The check is promptly brought to you when asked and you are sent warmly on your way.

If anyone is in search of fresh local seafood, look no further than Tarks of Dania. Serving South Florida for almost 30 years, Tarks takes care of the local with terrific food and a real down home atmosphere. Tarks is one of a kind.

When I first arrived at Tarks, I thought I can’t believe I am doing a review on this place! But I know why. I love it. It has such a great feel to it, and it is the only “seafood” dinner I have ever seen. The food is so good and filling. They have been using the same menu for years. Tarks keeps it simple and does it right. That is why I would recommend Tarks to anyone. Enjoy!
